Changes to Dog Licensing - June 2014
Please note: Philadelphia dog licenses have changed!
You will no longer receive a new ID tag each year. While you still will need to renew your dog's license each year and pay the license fee, the tags you are receiving now are valid for the life of your pet and the expiration and renewal of your dog's license is managed electronically. You will not receive any more new tags.
You are receiving two tags with the same identifying number. One tag should be placed on your dog's collar immediately. The other tag should be kept in a safe place, such as on your key chain. If your dog is ever lost you will be able to provide your dog's tag number to animal control officers and you can use the second tag as a replacement tag should the original be lost.
