The city has seen a 40 percent drop (approximately 18,000 animals in 2017 versus 30,000 in 2011) of animals entering its shelters. We do so through rescue, foster care, adoption, and preventing pet homelessness in the first place by offering low-cost spay/neuter and basic vet care. The shelter has over 100 dogs available for adoption and is at capacity.
