I’ve been working at petsmart for just under a month and have been full time up until now. Ever since i started working there i was only getting between 16 and 20 hours a week and i knew that going in. However, if you dont answer the phone, or update your availability, you wont get the hours. Full timers and leaders have been rotating through vacation so the part timers can get hours. Consumers report negative experiences, particularly regarding customer service interactions. Reviewers also shared mixed opinions about certain aspects such as the staff, Every year hours get cut around this time of year and then it picks up again for the holidays. I worked on the floor and at the register until may and then i started working in the salon. At 8am, i have to start opening the store, pulling bopis orders, clearing the floor, so i barely have four hours to work on it. I got a pet care associate at 8:30, cashier at 9, but no one else until 12pm (and my stocker leaves at 9am). It’s nothing new. So i have been working for petsmart since march of this year and hired on as a bather. Customers express dissatisfaction with the level of service provided. The hour cuts are real and its really harsh. We have associates complaining they don t get hours , well my asl schedules everyone pretty fairly across the board. Checked last years schedules and we are about 60 hours less per week. My sl gave me her number at the beginning of working there in case i needed anything. People have also voiced concerns about the quality and effectiveness of the services they received.
