Acct philly’ s mission is to provide shelter, care and life saving efforts for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals and protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of philadelphia, providing a benefit to all of the citizens of the city regardless of race or economic status. According to acct philly, more than 160 dogs are already in their care, and some dogs are even being kept in crates in employees’ offices. · through surrender prevention efforts, the organization works with owners to keep people and pets together and is the only facility in the city that accepts all strays and unwanted animals from within the city. The shelter says it’s been forced to put time stamps. As an extra incentive, and an indication of acct’ s desperation, volunteers are being offered money to foster an animal for a month — $100 per cat, or $200 per dog — culminating with a big adoption event in august. Acct philly manages the city’s animal shelter facility in north philadelphia handling nearly 18,000 animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually. Acct philly is open seven days a week – except for major holidays – for pet adoptions.
