Project meow is an all-volunteer cat rescue group that helps west philadelphia residents with the homeless cat population through trap, neuter, return and manage (tnrm), providing support and resources to caretakers, and facilitating care and adoptions of friendly, abandoned cats. He may have came from the streets but its very clear that he was truly meant to be in a warm loving home. · there are an estimated 400,000 stray and feral cats living on the streets of philadelphia. Medical costs are one of our biggest expenses and fully funded by donations. In 2024, scrf treated 156 cats with medically urgent conditions. The barrier between life and death for these cats often hinges on the efforts of community cat caretakers and the availability of trap-neuter-release (tnr) programs. Whether it’s caring for abandoned kittens , providing urgent medical treatment, or funding spay/neuter surgeries, your donation directly impacts the most vulnerable cats in our community. · for decades, philadelphia ’ s strategy for urban cat population control was “trap and kill. ” thousands of cats and kittens were trapped and euthanized each year — but without sterilization, the population didn’t decrease. All the cats coming into scrf need medical care ranging from spay and neuter to extended intensive care stays in the hospital as well as cases of abuse. He has a large appetite due to his diabetes, but that can be managed with insulin and high-protein cat food. He enjoys climbing, watching tv, and cuddling.
